Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine the knowledge of youth about integrity and their reactions to integrity violations that commonly occur in daily life. Quantitative methods were applied in this study, using a non-probability sampling method. The sample of this study was 76 final year students studying in one of the private tertiary institutions in Bangi, Malaysia. The data collected was processed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), analysed using descriptive statistics, and the results were presented as percentages and mean. The results showed that the majority of the respondents have knowledge related to the concept of integrity. It also revealed that the overall mean of the social integrity study was 2.68, while the abuse of power criterion had a mean of 3.59. The results further indicated that a few students did not know and understood integrity. The conclusion that can be drawn is that although the students possess integrity knowledge, it will not guarantee them from breaking their integrity in their daily life. Therefore, the continuous advocacy of integrity and the importance of practicing integrity must be further strengthened at the educational level before the students can enter the workplace.
